FLY LOVE

The project “Fly Love” includes songs written by various songwriters and composers from the 60's and 70's: the unforgettable songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim, music from popular films to the lesser known but fascinating Estonian composer Toomas Rull's original songs.
The highlights of the CD include a moving rendition of the Elvis Presley classic “Always on my mind” and the Dianne Reeves and George Duke classic “Smile”.
“Fly Love” is indeed a multilingual musical voyage. You can hear five different languages throughout the CD: English, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and Latvian. All but one of the songs was performed in their original languages: “Akvarelis” lyrics were written in Latvian by Jolanta.
The songs have been arranged according to the Afro-American jazz and Latin traditions. Jazz singer, Jolanta Gulbe Pashkevich has brought together five unique musicians to realize her vision: Puerto Rican guitar player Neff Irizarry, an American bass guitar player and singer James Werts (participating in the title song of the album Fly Love), Estonian drummer/songwriter Toomas Rull, Latvian jazz saxophonist/flautist Deniss Pashkevich, and jazz pianist Madars Kalniņš.
“Fly Love” is a reflection of Jolanta's musical world and a journey through her soul.
